We went on our first ever cruise last year on the Disney Dream in May. We flew into Florida and went onboard the same day. It was an absolute blast and I would highly recommend cruising with Disney, especially if you have kids. We went on a 5 day/4 night to the Bahamas, including Disney’s private island Castaway Cay.
Apparently, Blogger didn't like bombarding you with pictures so they randomly selected some for an album. Now, they are also all scrambled and not an any way in order.
The first day was at sea. We played mini golf, had a sail away party, checked out the kids floor and nursery, explored the ship, went to dinner and a play.
The second day Clint and I went to Nassau by ourselves leaving the kids in the AMAZING kids area. When we came to pick them up that night for dinner they didn't want to leave. I don't blame them. When we showed up, Lyndon was taking a 3D animation art class and Charlotte and Ashtyn were having a dance party with Snow White. Right up their alleys.
While we were in Nassau we went swimming with dolphins and they pushed us across the water with their noses. It was pretty neat. We walked around the resort and Nassau and did a little shopping.
The third day was at sea so we enjoyed the pools and water slides most of the time. The kids wanted to go back to the kids area and play. We ate lots and lots of help yourself ice cream. That night at dinner was a pirate party. There was also supposed to be fireworks that night but it was starting to get stormy outside. We just went to and saw a really funny ventriloquist instead.
The fourth day we went to the island. We did mainly snorkeling and playing at the beach. The girls were to young to do any of the other activities (water sailing, paddle boating, etc.). We never even went over to the big waterslide because it started to POUR on us. We waited it out and when it was over we pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves. I couldn't get over how pretty the water is. We had a fun dinner that night with the turtle from Finding Nemo. He was swimming around big TV screens talking and interacting with everyone. They ended up doing the fireworks that night and we could watch them from our balcony.
The fifth day was sad to go. We had other things planned in Florida before we headed home though.
In between these sentences we were always swimming, eating yummy food and non stop ice cream. The kids actually made themselves sick with chocolate milk at dinner every night. The kids loved the water slides. There was also always parades and characters to go see in true Disney fashion. Lots of movies, plays, and entertainment aboard as well. We never even found all the hidden Mickey’s. :)
When you look at this picture below you can see how our room looked during the day. At night, the couch turned into a bed and another bed came down from the ceiling to make bunk beds. There was also a Murphy bed in the corner. The kids fought over the top bunk and had to take turns. They thought that it was cool because on the ceiling there are constellations painted on with Peter Pan characters in the stars.
