Austin Trip

We met Clint's brother and his wife, a cousin and her husband and a couple of friends in Austin over a weekend in September for the BYU/UT game.  We showed up later then everyone else and left earlier so we went to the Capitol by ourselves since they had already been by the time we arrived.

Everything is bigger in Texas.  The Texas Capitol is the largest Capitol building.

The Texas Star is everywhere.  I love it. This one is the inside of the dome. That star is actually 8 feet wide from tip to tip.

We climbed the stairs as high as we could.
Is it weird I took a picture of the hinges?  They were so neat, and they were all like that.

The picture above is on the floor under the dome.  It represents the six flags that have flown over Texas.  The picture below is the State of Representatives room. They meet less than any other state.

We ate some great mexican food and got to hang out with friends and family... without kids.  It was a great weekend!

BYU lost though. Boo.
